How do I open the panel?
- Point at the notch and click the lip of light that slides out.
- Press Control-Option-N (the hotkey can be changed in Settings).
- Right-click the lip.
- Or open the app a second time.
How do I quit?
Quit is at the top of the Settings window.
My Mac has no notch
HappyNotch lives as a pill at the top center of the screen.
Permissions
Each permission is asked only when the feature that needs it is switched on, and can be changed in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Task Manager's switch is in HappyNotch's Settings → General.
Where are my settings?
Settings and the shortcut shelf are kept on your Mac by macOS. Deleting the app removes them.

macOS 14 or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon.
